Scenic Acres is a NW Calgary community located south of Crowchild Trail, in between Stoney Trail and Nose Hill Drive. The community borders the Bow River and traverses the hill as it rises above the river valley. As the name implies, Scenic Acres has astounding views of the river valley and the city. Scenic Acres real estate has all detached homes, in a wide variety of styles, shapes and price ranges.
Communities beside Scenic Acres are Arbour Lake (across Crowchild Trail to the north), Silver Springs (to the east across Nose Hill Drive), Bowness (south of the Bow River) and the newer community of Tuscany (located across Stoney Trail).
Within the community is a main circle road (Scenic Acres Drive and Scurfield Drive), which are connected on the east and west sides to Nose Hill Drive and Stoney Trail, respectively. Just north of the community is the Calgary Transit Crowfoot LRT station, situated along Crowchild Trail. Trains travel from the station to downtown (passing by the University of Calgary and SAIT) and go all the way to the deep south. Buses go through Scenic Acres and connect to the LRT station, making commutes easy for downtown workers and students.
There are two schools in the community – Monsignor E.L. Doyle Elementary and Scenic Acres School. The Crowchild Twin Arena, an indoor skating arena for hockey and public skating, is also in Scenic Acres. Many pathways wind through the community and connect up to the transit station. There is also an active community association.
