On the eastern side of Calgary is the community of Copperfield. It is located at the southeast corner of the ring road, Stoney Trail, which offers fast commutes around Calgary. The neighbourhood was officially established in 2002 and most houses were completed construction by 2006. Copperfield can be accessed from the south via 52 Street East or from the north via 130 Avenue South. Not only is the community easy to access via Stoney Trail and Deerfoot Trail, but there are also transit options available. Calgary Transit buses circle the community and head to the Somerset/Bridlewood LRT station. Trains depart the station and travel through downtown and up to the northwest corner, passing by both SAIT and the University of Calgary.
Many shopping options are available in Seton and McKenzie Towne. There are a range of major retailers, grocery stores, restaurants and services. The South Health Campus is a major Calgary hospital and is located in Seton also.
Copperfield has an elementary and junior high school, dance studio for all ages and an active community association along with Mahogany. The association has hall rentals, athletic fields, an ice rink and regular events for residents.
