Douglasdale/Glen is a community that is bordered by the Bow River and Fish Creek Provincial Park. It is easily accessed from Deerfoot Trail and is home to parks, schools, shopping and more. The community has a few distinct regions – Douglas Glen is on the northern side of Deerfoot Trail, Douglasdale is on the southern side of Deerfoot Trail and on the farthest east side of the community is Douglas Ridge. The SE Calgary community of Douglasdale/Glen was established in 1986. It is located in between the Bow River and Deerfoot Trail, with a section of the neighbourhood (Douglas Glen) located on the northern side of Deerfoot Trail. The community can be easily accessed from Deerfoot Trail via 24 Street East/Douglasdale Boulevard or 130 Avenue South.
Douglasdale real estate features all single-family homes. Many homes back onto the Douglasdale Golf Club course or have views of the expansive Bow River valley. Nearby communities include Riverbend (to the north) and McKenzie Lake (to the south). There is a large shopping centre located nearby in McKenzie Towne.
There are plenty of athletic fields and baseball diamonds located in the community, and there are parks along the river. Many pathways run throughout Douglasdale and connect to the Bow River pathway network. These pathways also connect to Fish Creek Provincial Park, a large urban park with trails, picnic spots, swimming and more.
Douglasdale is home to a public school and a Catholic school. There are a few shopping plazas in the community also. The Douglasdale Glen Community Association runs events, vegetable garden and more for residents of all ages.
