The SW neighbourhood of Silverado was established in 2005. It is located south of Highway 22X and west of Macleod Trail. The community is accessed via 6 Street West, which turns into Sheriff King Street. To the north of Silverado are the communities of Somerset and Bridlewood.

The community greenspaces and pathways are overseen by a residents’ association. There is also an active community association in Silverado that hosts events, movies, athletic events and has a community garden.
