Crescent Heights is the community directly north of downtown, located on the hill that rises up from the Bow River valley. It stretches from 4 Street West to Edmonton Trail, and from the Bow River to 16 Avenue North. Centre Street runs directly through the community and acts as the dividing line between the NE and the NW. The communities nearby Crescent Heights are Tuxedo Park (across 16 Avenue North), Rosedale and Sunnyside (to the west), and Renfrew and Bridgeland to the east.
As an older community in Calgary, Crescent Heights offers a variety of traditional and modern styles. The neighbourhood was originally established as a village in 1908, and it was incorporated into the City of Calgary in 1911.
