Although Richmond (also known as Richmond Park-Knobhill) is often mistaken as Killarney-Glengarry, it is a unique and vibrant community all on its own. With both bungalows from the 1950’s and new development, Richmond is a destination for Calgarians seeking a beautiful inner-city neighbourhood. The community of Richmond, also known as Richmond Park-Knobhill, borders Killarney-Glengarry, Bankview and South Calgary. It is divided by Crowchild Trail and only a few streets of this community are located on the east side of Crowchild Trail. This is often confusing and many people think it is Killarney-Glengarry. 25A Street SW is the divider between the two communities.
There is easy access to and from Richmond. With access to Crowchild Trail via both 17 Avenue and 33 Avenue South, commuters can travel throughout Calgary with ease. Downtown is only a 10-minute drive away. 17 Avenue – with its shops, restaurants, bars and nightlife – is an easy walk away. For transit users, many buses pass through Richmond regularly, and the Shaganappi Point LRT station is nearby.
Richmond real estate has a wide variety of properties. From beautiful bungalows to new developments, there is a style that meets any preference. And many affordable condos to meet any budget.
Richmond Park-Knobhill has an active community center. There are parks scattered throughout the neighbourhood, and the Richmond Green Golf Course is the perfect destination for golfers at any skill level.
The Richmond School is located within the neighbourhood, and Mount Royal University is nearby and easily accessed with many Calgary Transit bus routes.
