Just north of 16 Avenue North (the Trans-Canada Highway in Calgary) between Edmonton Trail and 2 Street West is the community of Tuxedo Park. The community is a rectangle, with 32 Avenue North on its northern border. Although a small community, Tuxedo Park real estate is very diverse. The homes in the community range from bungalows to duplexes to larger condos. Most of the condo complexes are located along Centre Street, which runs through the community and divides the NW from the NE.
The communities nearby Tuxedo Park feature similar real estate options. Mount Pleasant is to the west, Highland Park is to the north, Winston Heights/Mountview is to the east and Crescent Heights is across 16 Avenue North to the south.
Many shops and services line both sides of Centre Street and 16 Avenue North. There is a grocery store, Italian market, sports gear store and a few restaurants. Balmoral School is a public school located in the community in a beautiful sandstone building. The Tuxedo Park Community Association has classes and programs for all ages, hall rentals and an after-school program.
Tuxedo Park has easy access to downtown. With vehicles, both Centre Street and Edmonton Trail head directly into the city’s core. Many Calgary Transit bus routes run up 4 Street West, Centre Street and Edmonton Trail, in addition across the city via 16 Avenue North.
