North East Calgary Features
The North East region is one of the smaller regions in Calgary, but it offers the most room to grow. It is located to the east of Deerfoot Trail and north of Memorial Drive. Lots of the community is situated on top of a large hill, which offers amazing views of the city and mountains. North East Calgary real estate varies in styles and ages, and ranges from single-family homes to condos.
With quick access to the Calgary International Transit, Calgary Transit LRT and major roadways, North East Calgary is a popular choice for many families seeking houses and condos nearby many amenities.
North East Calgary is home to a variety of residential communities, in addition to some commercial areas and the Calgary International Airport.
The Calgary Transit Blue Line LRT travels from the western side of the city, through downtown and up to Saddle Ridge. The train line is an important and well-used link into downtown and beyond. In addition to the LRT, the North East region is also served with a variety of bus routes into each community.
North East Calgary real estate is especially diverse. Communities near the edges of the city have been build more recently, while those nearer downtown are older. Most communities feature a wide variety of single-family houses, and most also have townhomes and condo options.
The NE is home to a variety of parks, the Calgary Zoo and Telus Spark. There are a few malls, many shopping centres and schools throughout.
