The neighbourhood is located near the intersection of 16 Avenue North (Trans-Canada Highway) and Stoney Trail, south of the Bow River. The community itself is a peaceful retreat, right within the city. It is near the Bow River, the biggest river in Calgary. There are a few big parks nearby, including Bowness Park. Across 16 Avenue North is Winsport, a world renowned winter sport facility. Formerly called Canada Olympic Park for the 1988 Winter Olympics, Winsport now offers skiing, snowboarding, luge, bobsled and ski jumping. There are also activities for the summer, including mountain biking.
