Varsity is a large community stretching from Crowchild Trail to the river, immediately beside the University of Calgary. There are three main districts in Varsity – Varsity Acres, Varsity Village and Varsity Estates.

Varsity Acres was developed in the 1960s and is the oldest part of the community. There are a variety of homes in the area, including two-storey houses and many 2, 3 and 4-level splits. There are also bungalows and condos, including Varsity Towers.

Surrounding Market Mall is Varsity Village. Real estate in this area includes everything from mansions to bungalows. There are also townhouses and condos, built between the late 1960s to the 1980s. Varsity Village includes a research and commercial area in the eastern side, nearby the University of Calgary.

Varsity Estates mostly has single-family homes. There are a variety of house styles, ranging from two-storey homes, splits and bi-levels. Many homes have been renovated, a good sign for a real estate market. There are a few townhome complexes and condos, including the Groves of Varsity, which offer great access to the LRT and shops along Crowchild Trail.

Nearby communities with homes for sale are Silver Springs, Brentwood, Montgomery and Bowness.

Not only does Varsity have many access roads off Crowchild Trail and 16 Avenue North via Shaganappi Trail, but there is good transit options from Calgary Transit. The Brentwood LRT station is connected to Varsity, and there are many buses that pass through the neighbourhood.

Varsity has great shopping. Market Mall, one of Calgary’s biggest indoor shopping centres, is in Varsity. There are more shopping centres along Crowchild Trail. Varsity also has four public schools and one Catholic school. And the neighbourhood has an active community association.

For recreation, there is a golf course in the community, Silver Springs Golf Course. Bowmont Park is nearby and has nature trails, parks, athletic fields and an off-leash area for dogs.
