Near the northern edge of Calgary is the community of Sherwood. It is one of five communities in the Symons Valley region, along with Evanston, Nolan Hill, Sage Hill and Kincora. Sherwood is the community immediately north of Stoney Trail, in between Sarcee Trail and Shaganappi Trail. Across Stoney Trail is Hamptons and Hidden Valley.
The NW neighbourhood can be easily accessed from Sarcee Trail, Shaganappi Trail or Symons Valley Parkway (from the north). Sherwood also has a Calgary Transit community shuttle, which stops throughout the neighbourhood and connects to the Dalhousie LRT station.
