On the eastern edge of Nose Hill Park is the community of Upper North Haven. It is bordered by 14 Street West (which is the main access road). Egerts Park is to the east of the community. There are only two access roads into Upper North Haven (14 Street West and Norfolk Drive via Thorncliffe), and it is not directly connected to North Haven.
Unlike North Haven, Upper North Haven real estate is completely detached houses. In addition, Upper North Haven has newer houses compared to North Haven.
Nose Hill Park is a large urban grassland park that is just across 14 Street West. Its large network of pathways and trails make for amazing hikes, walks and runs with views of the entire city. There is also an off-leash area for dogs. Many pathways also run nearby and through Upper North Haven, including directly to North Haven School.
Calgary Transit has a few bus routes that run through the community and connect to the LRT network and downtown. Through a special bus-only entry, buses also connect directly to North Haven and the school.
There are shopping options along 14 Street West and Northmount Drive. The Calgary Winter Club, which has athletic facilities and social clubs, is just across 14 Street. The community is also well-served by Calgary Police, which has a station nearby. The North Haven Community Association offers a preschool, programming and events for Upper North Haven and North Haven residents.
