South East Calgary Features
Nestled along the Bow River, South East Calgary features communities nearby parks, lakes and transportation options. The region of South East Calgary is located along Deerfoot Trail and south of Memorial Drive.
South East Calgary communities feature homes with large lots and nearby excellent driving options. The older neighbourhoods in South East Calgary (such as Riverbend and Douglasdale) are located closer to Glenmore Trial, and the newest communities (including Seton and Cranston) are farther south. With Deerfoot and Stoney trails close by, all communities in South East Calgary have excellent access to effective driving routes.
Seton is one of Calgary’s newest communities and is designed to be livable, walkable and modern. It features Calgary’s newest hospital and a range of shops and services.
Many neighbourhoods are located along the Bow River and have amazing sights of the river valley. These communities include Riverbend and Douglasdale/Glen. The Bow River pathway network runs nearby all these communities and travels through downtown to the western limits of the city. McKenzie Lake and Mahogany are lake communities with easy during all months for recreation and relaxation.
As the Bow River travels south through South East Calgary, it passes through Fish Creek Provincial Park. The large urban park spans both the South and South East regions, and it features picnic spots, swimming and endless pathways. Communities that line the park have outstanding views of trees and green fields.
