Kingsland is located just west of Macleod Trail in between Glenmore Trail and Heritage Drive. The neighbourhood has quiet streets and crescents, all nearby many amenities on Macleod Trail and Elbow Drive. Kelvin Grove is nearby Kingsland across Elbow Drive. To the south is Haysboro and to the north is Meadowlark Park.

The neighbourhood is just south of Chinook Centre, the largest shopping mall in the city. Macleod Trail is lined with shopping centres and services, and the road leads directly to downtown Calgary.

There was a year-round indoor farmers market, the Market on Macleod, which is now closed. Kingsland is also home to a pair of indoor skating arenas. There are a variety of greenspaces within the neighbourhood, and the Glenmore Reservoir (with its endless pathways and parks) is only a short distance away.
