The SW neighbourhood of Silverado was established in 2005. It is located south of Highway 22X and west of Macleod Trail. The community is accessed via 6 Street West, which turns into Sheriff King Street. To the north of Silverado are the communities of Somerset and Bridlewood. To the south is the community of Belmont.

The community greenspaces and pathways are overseen by a residents’ association. There is also an active community association in Silverado that hosts events, movies, athletic events and has a community garden.
