West Calgary extends from the western edge of the city to the city centre. 16 Avenue North runs along the northern border of West Calgary and the Glenmore Reservoir is on the southern side.

Main roads running through West Calgary include 16 Avenue North (Trans Canada Highway), Glenmore Trail and Sarcee Trail. The region is served by Calgary Transit with many buses and the Blue Lion LRT.

SW Calgary features a variety of large parks with pathways and trails to explore.

West Calgary is one of Calgary’s most popular regions to live in. All communities have quick commutes to downtown and fast access to highways leading to the Rocky Mountains. The West Calgary homes for sale include modern infills, luxury single-family houses, older style bungalows and affordable condos and townhomes.

The rolling land is gently embellished with hills and valleys, deep ravines, small ponds and fresh water. The great views of the snow-capped Rocky Mountains underline the horizon on the city’s western edge.  Many hilltop West Calgary homes survey the distant prairie and the beautiful downtown skyline.

West Calgary homes for sale include single-family homes to townhouses and apartments in all price ranges. Popular communities for older style homes on large lots include Glendale, Glenbrook and Glamorgan. On the other side of Sarcee Trail and up the hill with excellent views of the city are newer communities, such as Signal Hill and Coach Hill. The newer neighbourhoods near the edge of the city have homes with modern styles and a diversity of styles. These communities include Discovery Ridge, Aspen Woods and Cougar Ridge.
