Highland Park is a community in both the NE and NW quadrants of Calgary, up Centre Street from the city’s downtown. A short drive north from Calgary’s downtown is the community of Highland Park. Centre Street runs through the middle of the neighbourhood, dividing the NW from the NE quadrant. Highland Park real estate features both single-family houses, attached homes and condos on the western side, while the eastern side has more commercial properties.
Highland Park is bordered by McKnight Boulevard and 32 Avenue North, in between Edmonton Trail and 4 Street West. Communities nearby Highland Park are Thorncliffe to the north, Highwood and Queens Park Village to the east, and Tuxedo Park to the south.
Highland Park has a variety of schools, including Buchanan School and James Fowler High School. There are a range of shopping options along McKnight Boulevard, Centre Street, 4 Street, 32 Avenue and Edmonton Trail. Highland Park is home to a few parks and athletic fields, and along the eastern side is the Nose Creek pathway. The Highland Park Community Association runs a preschool, martial arts, yoga and events throughout the year.
Both Centre Street and Edmonton Trail lead directly into downtown. Many Calgary Transit bus routes travel up both of those roads and 4 Street West, offering many options to the city’s core and beyond.
