Elboya is nearby the Elbow River between Elbow Drive and Macleod Trail, bounded by 50 Avenue South. Communities nearby Elboya include Britannia, Parkhill and Windsor Park.
Located directly south of downtown, commutes to the city’s core are easy. Elbow Drive and Macleod Trail both connect to downtown, in addition to popular districts such as Mission and 17 Avenue South. Cycling downtown is equally as easy. Paths along the Elbow River connect to Calgary’s vast network of multi-use pathways that encircle and enter downtown.
Connections to Calgary Transit buses and LRTs are also simple. The 39 Avenue South LRT station is nearby and buses regularly run down Elbow Drive.
There are plenty of green spaces and parks within and surrounding Elboya. Stanley Park has year-round recreation, from swimming to picnicking to toboganning. Across the Elbow River (connected with pedestrian bridges) is Sandy Beach, which has family friendly swimming. Pathways along the Elbow River connect to the circle around the Glenmore Reservoir. Elboya pedestrians, cyclists and runners have endless pathways to explore. The Calgary Golf and Country Club (Alberta’s oldest private club) is also close.
Elboya School and St. Anthony School are located in the community. There is also an active community association that has regular events and hall rentals.
Chinook Centre Mall is Calgary’s largest indoor shopping centre and a shopping destination for Calgarians. It is located a short drive to the south of Elboya. A variety of shopping centres are sprinkled on Elbow Drive and Macleod Trail, making shopping quick and easy.
