The NW Calgary community of Rocky Ridge is located along Crowchild Trail at 12 Mile Coulee Road, northwest of Stoney Trail. It is bordered by Country Hills Boulevard and Rocky Ridge Drive. Established in 1998, Rocky Ridge is a large community with many detached houses. Communities nearby Rocky Ridge include Royal Oak and Tuscany (which is across Crowchild Trail).
At the southeast corner of the community is the Calgary Transit Tuscany LRT station. C-Trains travel from the station through downtown and down to the south end of the city, passing through major destinations like SAIT, ACAD, the University of Calgary, Calgary Stampede grounds, Chinook Centre and Southcentre Mall. There is a parking lot and a pedestrian bridge that connects to the LRT station, and buses travel through the community and connect directly to the station.
There is a shopping centre in Rocky Ridge that has shops, services and a grocery store. Nearby is Crowfoot Crossing, a large shopping centre with many major retailers and a movie theatre, and is either a quick drive or a short train ride via the Tuscany LRT station.
Rocky Ridge has many green spaces and parks, with pathways that weave through the community and connect crescents and parks for pedestrians, runners and cyclists. There are also many small lakes in the community, offering opportunities for gorgeous backyards that back onto the water. Along with Royal Oak, Rocky Ridge has a vibrant community association.
