Hillhurst, a community with similar housing styles and options, is directly to the east. Briar Hill is north of West Hillhurst on the escarpement and Parkdale and St. Andrews Heights are to the west.
Although West Hillhurst was annexed by the City of Calgary in 1907, significant development did not happen until after World War II. The community now still has some original houses, but many lots have been redeveloped into modern homes, duplexes and townhomes.
