On the south side of Calgary is the large community of Cranston. It is located south of Stoney Trail and west of Deerfoot Trail, and bordered by the Bow River on the western edge. Cranston features schools and shopping, in addition to close proximity to the South Health Campus.
The Cranston homes for sale are mostly single-family houses. There are many styles of modern detached homes in the neighbourhood, with some overlooking the beautiful Bow River valley. Cranston real estate also includes townhouses and condos, located throughout the community. Other communities nearby feature similar housing styles. These communities are Seton and Auburn Bay to the east, and McKenzie Lake and McKenzie Towne to the north.
Cranston is home to a few shopping plazas, including restaurants and a grocery store. There are also a few schools, including Cranston School and Christ the King School. The Cranston Residents’ Association has a community hall with a gym and meeting rooms available to rent, in addition to regular events and programming for kids, adults and seniors.
The community is easy to access, either by Cranston Boulevard off Stoney Trail or Cranston Avenue off Deerfoot Trail. Calgary Transit runs a few bus routes through the neighbourhood. Along the Bow River are multi-use pathways that connect to the city-wide network, great for pedestrians, runners and cyclists.
